The goal of "The Iron Worker Sisters" is to raise awareness for women in the ironworking industry, and to recruit more women into the field.

In a male-dominated industry it was important to our client that we capture the pride that comes with being a woman in the field.

Early ideas explored the iron trade in a literal sense, taking concepts from the structure and visual cues of building frames and the construction process.

The final logo incorporated "spuds" which are one of the major tools in the trade, as well as a helmet and mask illustration modeled after the client herself on the job.

There is a lot of pride in being a union ironworker, and the logo needed to show that. A version was created that represents the local union and can be customized for other unions across the nation.

A set of brand rules as also created for apparel.
