There is a massive call from groups across the US to change the way police departments are funded and managed. Fix the Police takes a glimpse into the American policing system, its tactics, its flaws, and potential resolutions.

This is not meant to be a finite solution to the problem, but instead a look into different types of reform that may help create a more fair system for everyone involved.

One challenge I faced while working on this project was deciding which methods of reform I should focus on. While there are dozens of different ideas out there, I wanted to focus on the methods that seem the most feasible.

I did this by researching methods that already had proven success on smaller scales, learning from past failings in the system, or methods that are easily implemented with minimal interference to the duties of an officer.

I used the design of the book to highlight the need for reform and rally public support for it. I wanted to show there are problems in the system, but we can fix them.
